Stewart Manning

"You can't do that! I'm the victim here. You have no right to just come into my house and start poking around."

We were hoping against hope that the father of sweet Meg Manning would prove that not all male parents in Neptune have to be murderers, adulterers or white-collar criminals, and in a way, we were even right: He is just a creepy child abuser!

But certainly Stewart Manning means well when he plans to hand over his granddaughter to an orphanage known for its tough discipline, when he locks his youngest daughter in a closet since she is not yet ready to be "tested," or when he tries to set up a disturbing weirdo with his eldest because the guy sings hymns with his eyes closed. We are sure there is nothing wrong with his perspective.

After all, even a crazed-out stalker like Lucky is a better partner for Meg than the sinner who knocked her up, right? Manning likes the Neptune High janitor so much, he even bails him out of jail before Lucky can tell either Keith Mars or the Sheriff what's his grief with county supervisor Woody Goodman, which is really quite sweet of him, isn't it?

Yeah, we thought so, too.
