1.05 "You Think You Know Somebody"

Summary

Sing, O goddess, the anger of Veronica daughter of Keith, that brought countless ills upon the Neptunians. Many a brave piñata full of drugs did it send hurrying down to the sea, and many a hero did it yield a prey to bodybuilders and frontier-guards, for so were the counsels of Rob fulfilled from the day on which the son of Lawrence, king of architects, and great Veronica, first fell out with one another.

Important Parts

• Troy, Luke, and Logan are on their way home from a weekend in Tijuana when Troy's dad's car is stolen. Troy asks Veronica to help him track down the car before his dad gets back into town and finds out. She enlists Weevil's help.

• Luke also needs Veronica's help since the steroids he bought in TJ were in Troy's car. Luke manages to come up with the cash to pay off his buyer, and Veronica arranges for the buyer to be arrested for smuggling contraband when he tries to cross back into the U.S.

• When Veronica is unable to track down the car, Troy's dad ships him off to boarding school. Troy instead picks up the "stolen" BMW from where he'd hidden it and the package of steroids that he stashed in the bathroom of the restaurant where the car disappeared. However, on the way to meet up with girlfriend Shauna, Troy discovers that the drugs have been replaced with candy, with which is packaged a note from Veronica wishing him luck and informing him that she flushed the steroids.

• Veronica discovers that Rebecca and Keith are dating and isn't happy. Keith, realizing that Veronica is not ready to deal with him dating, breaks up with her.

• Veronica finds a safety deposit box key in her mother's things. The box contains surveillance photos of Veronica with a gun sight drawn over her head. She wonders if her mother left town to protect her.
