Atkins Diet (Organizations, Companies, and Products)

"So far, Kendall was only guilty of violating her Atkins diet."

This was the first in a popular series of high-protein, low carbohydrate diets. This version encouraged its devotees to eat meat several times a day and discouraged vegetables. The diet's founder, Dr. Robert C. Atkins, allegedly suffered from a heart attack, congestive heart failure, and hypertension prior to his death at age 49. These conditions likely stemmed from a lifetime of unhealthy eating.
