Ernest Hemingway (People)

"Um, can we skip English today? I have some sort of Hemingway related narcolepsy. You start talking about The Sun Also Rises and I start falling asleep."
"Don't blame Papa, blame Mrs. Murphy's monotone."

"Papa" was a nickname of Hemingway and The Sun Also Rises is considered one of his best works; it's about a group of thirtysomethings after World War I. Certainly, the book is less boring than The Old Man and the Sea which is just about this old guy fishing. Meg should count her lucky stars.

"Or 'Papa' could be Ernest Hemingway."

Ernest Hemingway is a Pulitzer- and Nobel Prize-winning American author whose life reads like a novel in its own right. He drove an ambulance for the Red Cross during WWI. He settled in Paris to cover the Greco-Turkish War, and it was there that he met his mentor, Gertude Stein, and, along with T.S. Eliot and F. Scott Fitzgerald, became part of the expatriate group known as the Lost Generation. After Paris, he lived in Key West, Florida, and in Cuba. He was a journalist during WWII, and observed the D-Day landing from a landing craft. He published his prizewinning novella, The Old Man and the Sea in 1952, and only nine years later, he committed suicide at his home in Ketchum, Idaho. In the middle of all that living and dying, he was married four times, raised three sons, survived two plane crashes, and was infected with anthrax once. What, that's not enough for you to want to call him Papa? Apparently it was enough for an industrious entrepreneur in Cabo San Lucas to want to adopt Hemingway as the posthumous spokesperson for his resort. We'll bet Hemingway wouldn't have appreciated that, but he would have appreciated the dramatic events that unfolded in Mexico, as well as Keith, a proud papa himself, for recognizing his famous nickname.
