voodoo dolls (Religion, Folklore, and Urban Legends)

"And you took turns sticking pins in your Logan dolls?"

Non-Judeo-Christian religions get a bad break. If you don't believe in the Bible, the general perception of your religion is that you're a terrorist, a lesbian, or a Satan worshipper. In much of the general public's mind, voodoo falls into the latter, despite the fact that it predates Christianity. Specifically, voodoo dolls are known for bringing harm and bad luck to an enemy by cursing said doll and sticking pins in it. But to say that this is a cornerstone of voodoo would be the same as saying exorcism is a cornerstone of Catholicism. Yes, it has happened and still happens today, but it is more often used as a tool in the movies and television than in actuality. Don't believe me? Okay, sure. No problem. What, you have a stabbing pain in your back? Huh. Odd.
